about

The beginning of the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra was a workshop with Evan Parker during the 2002 free RadiCCAls festival at the Centre of Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. Since then we have worked with many others including George Lewis, Walter Prati, Barry Guy, Keith Rowe, as well as Maggie Nicols, and also worked out our own way of doing things. One of the many good things about being in this band is creating new work with musicians from a wide range of backgrounds, including jazz, contemporary classical and experimental pop.
